A Final Hump Before Freddy *Sniffle*
Wednesday Mind Hump - Week 33
Today, August 25th is Healthy Lifestyles Day! But!! (or should I say "butt"! lol) ...we're all crazy here, and so we're opting for the holiday of Thursday, August 26th which is: Toilet Paper Day!!! Yeah, much more our style here at BDInsanity!!
Toilet Paper Day is in observance of the invention of toilet paper in China, in the year 580! Here's the warm-up! Using the word T I S S U E, tell us what "crap" is annoying you today!!
Too many friend to say goodbye to , not enough time!
I have to discuss my weekly university budget with the parental units tonight. Understandably, establishing a budget will be useful, but something about discussing my finances makes ye olde stomach churn.
So many things left to pack!
Stereos don't fit in suitcases, so that's one more bloody thing to carry to Moncton (and then on to Fredericton!)
Under two hours ago I had something to eat. And I'm hungry, AGAIN!
Everything, in my life is chaotic, simply put!
All set?? Let's move on to hump it up you cwazy loons! A little 'getting to know you' humpin' action!
1. If you were to nominate a celebrity (or their screen character) to the Presidency, who it would it be and why?
I don't know, because Arnie being the Governer of California was already hard enought to take......but something tells me that Having Tom Cruise in office would make those press conferences a lot easier to sit through!
2. If your best talent were an Olympic event, what it would be? Instead of a gold medal, what would first prize be?
Oh, my best talent would have to be the Obnoxiously Loud Conversationalist event, complete with an Operating Microphone as first prize :-P.
3. If you had a warning light on your forehead what would it warn people of if it were flashing? Wee-oooo! Weee-oooo! Break out the earmuffs folks! :-D.
4. You live in a cage...what are you? Do they ever let you out? Oh, I'd probably be a hamster! And they'd probably never let me loose near their fine china.....*giggle*
5. Scientists have discovered a way to bottle the essence of you. What does it smell like? Eau De Elizabeth would probably be comprised of three things- Honey, tea leaves, and a happy helping of cocoa. Mmm.....yunmy.
Post your answers on your blog or in the comments section. If you post them on your blog, be sure to leave a comment so we'll know you're humping!
There it is, the Wednesday Mind Hump, brought to you by those loooonatic staffers here at BDI! Have a great Wednesday!
Love & Huggles,
Dee, Friday, Sabra, Bliffy, Reesa, Andrea and Kelly
Share the hump with a friend. Just copy and paste the URL below into an email and challenge them to come "out hump you" *wink*

Oh, How I Love A Good Article!
You know how it is: I'll be sitting on the computer, minding my own business, and then along comes Words You Don't Know. Now I've been perusing this blog for quite some time (no, I'm not serving you a happy helping of BS- I actually have), and this guy is one of the most well spoken-er, well written- people you could ever hope to have blog in a lifetime. The fact that he's drop dead gorgeous doesn't hurt either (sorry Adam, I know you get it a lot, but hot DAMN!)
Either way, that wasn't the point of this post- an article by a journalist working for the Washington Post was posted on his blog concerning the psyche of the terrorized- how they live on a day-to-day basis. It's interesting, because I was told one day by a good friend of mine that the people living in Jerusalem have more joie-de-vivre than anyone, period- simply because they take the risk of dying every time they may step out of their front door and go on a bus. But they still somehow choose to live. I'll just post the comment I made on the post, it'll make a wee bit more sense:
"One word to describe that article- brilliant. Once someone-anyone- manages to instill fear the hearts of people, it's the ultimate form of control. The problem is that eventually the fear dulls after prolonged terrorist activity- it's become more commonplace than having a burger at McD's. But the interesting thing about the terrorist equation is that it doesn't work without fear- apathy and cold indifference. Like the article said, after a while, people start remembering to look at the girl with the nice ass after a while.
Thanks for sharing that one- 'twas indeed compelling."
It's a blog worth checkin' out, kids- do so in the very near future.
xXx

One Final Music Mambo Before Uni!
Sunday, August 22
Music Mambo - Week 22
A big hello to all the Mamboers out their in Blogland!
Music is a part of most everyone's life. We hear it when we're at the mall, at restaurants and sometimes even in our place of work. That's the focus of this week's mambo. How music affects us and shapes our lives.
Yup, this mambo is going deep!
So to start out this week, we'll do a little "I say ____, You think ____." (Music style, of course)
Drums: Travis Of Blink 182
Station: 102.1 The Edge! Anyone in Southern Ontario knows what I'm talking about!
Concert: The Trews on September 5!
MP3: Player
CD: Burner
Burn:
Seven:
Who: The Who. Obviously :-D.
London: What I see before France
Vinyl: Mum's record collection (Abba, The Cars, Saturday Night Fever.....the whole Gamut!)
Ok, so are you ready to really Mambo? Ok then, let's get dancing.
1. What is your definition of music? (What it means to you, etc)
Anything that's pleasing to your ear that follows a rhythm or a melody. And even those rules are broken in the art of making and playing music. It's a very open ended answer. If we're talking about what music means to me, it's one thing and one thing alone-release. It doesn't mean that it has to be mellow- it just has to play with my emotional heartstrings!.
2. What do you say about music? (Do you talk about bands and songs or do you gossip about the artists...that sort of thing) I do a bit of both truth be told, but it all depends on what the artists want to do. Mostly, it's how they sound- how they experiment or expound upon their training in music, how it develops, that sorta thing. :-D.
3. Here's a quote by Arnold Bennett about music, "Its language is a language which the soul alone understands, but which the soul can never translate." Tell us what your thoughts on that quote.
How very apt. One could say that for the melody itself, although modern-day bands give you the luxury of understanding what the melody means by putting it into words. But the lyrics are separate to the pieces themselves. Does that make sense?
Okay. Hurt me.
Badly.
I've not been on in ages, and this is the last Mambo I'm going to be able to do for another two weeks.
Going to university is nuts.
I had to make my goodbyes Friday and yesterday- neither of which I lasted through without a healthy dose of tears, I-love-yous, I-miss-yous, and the like. It's amazing to see who really cares about you going off to university and who doesn't- that speaks volumes about what they really mean to you.....I can't wait for it personally, but the whole "leaving home" idea is getting closer and closer-and a lot more intimidating. Can't back out now though! I've talked to Jenniece tonight, and she seems really excited about it! I can't wait to meet her....either way, you've got one tired sParklez on your hands. Nighty night, all!

Still Mamboing (Since Yesterday, No Less!)
I only did the first half of the mambo, because I couldn't think of anything before I went to work. My apologies!
1. What song from the recent top 40 charts is your favorite? (Recent being that last 6 or so months) Oooooh, there's a toughie there......Probably "I Believe In A Thing Called Love", by The Darkness. They just remind me of Queen- and I love Queen :-D.
2. Do you thing that most songs in the top 40 are overplayed or not? Tell us why you feel that way.
Largely, yes- it's about getting the artist out there and getting music heard, but there's playing, and then overmarketing (read: bombardment). There are so many other artists who could be getting airtime on the top 40, and quite simply aren't, because they're being outmarketed by their peers.
3. What band do you think most deserves a top 40 hit, but hasn't had one yet, or hasn't had one in a very long time? Oooooh, the list is ENDLESS here. Will try to cut it short though. The Streets need to break into the Top 40 over here, as does Muse. You honestly thought I was going to choose just one?!? :-P.
4. In the recent past, Top 40 was mostly rock/pop music. How do you feel about the inclusion of other genres into this grouping?
I think it's brought a lot of diversity to the music scene- clichéd answer aside, allowing other genres, like dancehall, Jazz and Rap has opened up a lot of doors for other artists. That said, it could be a lot more diverse- Much Music has done well for making up for that though....
5. Radio airplay helps to determine how well a single or album sells. Do you think that listeners should have more input into what radio stations play?
Well, it is what we're listening to isn't it? Obviously, the listeners can't have total control, and that's where the DJ's come in- to provide different musical alternatives. But more request hours WOULD be nice.......
Post your answers on your blog or in the comments section. If you post them on your blog, be sure to leave a comment so we'll know you're Mamboing! Remember it doesn't have to be Monday to mambo. Mamboing is fun on any day you choose.
So from all of us Mamboer's here at BDI to you....Mambo like you really mean it!
Many Hugs and Loads of Love

Lazy Little Mambo On A Sunday Night!
Yeah, yeah. I'm gettin' laaaaaaaaaaazy. :-).
Music evokes many emotions in people and can affect your moods in many ways. That's the subject of this weeks Music Mambo. So to get started let's do something a little wacky. Using the letters E-M-O-T-I-O-N, tell us how music affects you on an emotional level. You can use song lyrics, poetry...anything you want. Oh and since there are so many vowels, the letters don't always have to be the first letter of the world. Just bold that letter...and have fun!
Now are you ready to mambo? The bear is..that's for sure.
This week, since we're on a mood/emotion theme, I'm going to list some moods and you tell us the song that makes you feel that way or makes you think of that emotion.
Are you ready to mambo? Good, then let's get dancing!
Happy: The Rock Show (Blink 182)
Sad: Stop Crying Your Heart Out (Oasis)
Angry: Ex-Girlfriend (No Doubt)
Amorous: Endlessly (Muse)
Dreamy: Paint The Sky With Stars (Enya)
Freaked: The Twilight Zone Theme......
Independent: Holding My Own (The Darkness)
Misunderstood: Just A Girl (No Doubt)
Post your answers on your blog or in the comments section. If you post them on your blog, be sure to leave a comment so we'll know you're Mamboing! Remember it doesn't have to be Monday to mambo. Mamboing is fun on any day you choose.
So from all of us Mamboer's here at BDI to you....Mambo like it's the last day on earth!
*Mambos out the door for a jog*
Take care, and 'twas much fun doing this. *Yawn* The piano exam doth loom ever closer.
Gulp.
Either way, nighty night!

Yes, Another Favourite Song!
Love Is Only A Feeling (The Darkness)
The first flush of youth was upon you when our eyes first met
And I knew that to you and into your life I had to get
I felt light-headed at the touch of this stranger's hand
An assault my defences systematically failed to withstand
'Cos you came at a time
When the pursuit of one true love in which to fall
Was the be all and end all
Love is only a feeling (Drifting away)
When I'm in your arms I start believing (It's here to stay)
But love is only a feeling
Anyway
The state of elation that this unison of hearts achieved
I had seen, I had touched, I had tasted and I truly believed
That the light of my life Would tear a hole right through each cloud that scudded by
Just to beam on you and I
Love is only a feeling (Drifting away)
When I'm in your arms I start believing (It's here to stay)
But love is only a feeling
Anyway, anyway
Love is only a feeling (Drifting away)
And we've got to stop ourselves believing (It's here to stay)
'Cos love is only a feeling
Anyway.

I'm feeling like singin' fellow blogdrivers....any fans of Muse may sing along at will ;-).
You could be my unintended choice to live my life extended
You could be the one I'll always love
You could be the one who listens to my deepest inquisitions
You could be the one I'll always love
Ah, one of my favourite songs by Muse.......sadly I can't sing that song all the way through. And if you all really want to know why.....let's just say there's some emotional attachments to that songe that I haven't quite snipped away. I should, but I've just not been able to do that. At least not yet.
Take care all, and sorry for the altogether pointless entry.
Me xXx

In honor of August 4th in 1693 when Dom Perignon invented that great bubbly, champagne, let's take the letters of the word C-H-A-M-P-A-G-N-E to tell a little about yourself.
